If you want to continue we can certainly do so; I had to leave because I had gone on holiday with my family. Here, if you do want to continue:

"You're the granddaughter of the queen? And your mother is back-up lead mare?" Suddenly, as the colt sees it, an invisible line is drawn between him and Basandra. Nevertheless, he does not, as another colt might, withdraw, but actually steps onward. Now that he knows there's a line there, he just has to cross it.

Then he realizes the silliness of his questions. Laughing softly at himself, his eyes soften as he allows that he had made a slight mistake in his phrasing. "Should I say," he says, smiling, "congratulations?"
