The mare returns again, seeming more steady on her feet now, this time bearing a flask of water from the nearby spring. She sets it on the ground, then sends a strong flood of healing into the filly's leg to numb what would have been excruciating pain. Gripping the embeded steel in her teeth, she slowly pulls it out. Hurriedly, she sets the metal out of the way and pours the flask of water on the now open wound, grasping it between incisors. Mixed with the water is more healing magic, easing away infection and soothing broken nerves.
"That's all I should do for now," she tells the pair quietly. "Too much at one time could put her into shock, and that's the worst thing we can do for her."

On the fringes of the territory, well out of sight of the youngsters, she drops for a refreshing roll in the loose dirt and dust mixture, then stands and continues across the sandbridge out of the Isle.
