As the spouse of a 2nd-generation union member we are both ashamed that Monsieur Toussaint represents our union. Everytime he opens his mouth he either contradicts himself or points fingers at a different entity for the "failure" of the transit strike that he said afterwards was a success.

My husband was one of the many transit members who did not wish to strike. He stayed out for 2 days and walked to the nearest strike locations (listed on the website) but there was no picket line there on either day. He got a ride on the third day to his location and to his surprise found NO picket line there either. The entire "Picket line" was across the street in a nice warm coffee shop drinking coffee and reading newspapers while the rest of their union brothers braved frigid temperatures at other locations. Seeing this hypocracy, he clocked in. He figured "why bother".

This whole contract business would have been settled months before the strike occurred if Toussaint, the MTA and everyone else stopped grandstanding and focused on the issues at hand like getting the workers a fair deal. He is now pointing fingers at the dissenters today saying they want to get their pictures on TV when He's the one.

Point fingers at yourself Roger and serve the workers you purport to represent ... you got us into this mess by your grandstanding and your pettiness. Enough is enough! Let us get on with our lives ... stop pointing fingers and get down to business. Stop running the union like it's a dictatorship. We live in a democracy Roger and everyone has a right to be heard ... even the ones who disagree with you.
