Hi, in response to your note, I'm gonna quote my freind Ji Mi's page. I've said the same thing a lot of times, but I think she does a better job... the part that pertains to our comment would probably be the second paragraph. Thanks for reading :)

"So what did I see, hear, and find out that had such an effect on me? Cats and dogs being used for medicinal juices and even the leather that you wear. They`re being used for foods and soups, furs that may bein YOUR closet, and just plain torture. Then there`s the monkeys, dogs, and otheranimals who are forced to smoke all day, everyday, their heads being held still in clamps, despite the fact that the effects of smoke on humans has been knownfor a longtime. The cows, the chickens, the farm animals that end up as eggs, milk, cheese, and meats on your plate...who suffer their entire lives... most unable to stand fully up in their sick living conditions, unable to turn around in theirtiny space, never able to take care oftheir babies because they are taken away early to be raised the same way or slaughtered. They are treated like a shelf of cans in the supermarket. And we support this sick industry. We support their everyday suffering. They live only to die for a sick race of human beingssuch as ourselves. This is why I`m vegan.
I could go on and on and on about the atrocities. It`s sick. The examples above are justa handful of what no onewants you to know. It`sdisgusting. It`s ourfault.Peoplegive methe argument that people have teeth made for tearing at meat. That people are animals, andanimals eat other animalsin thewild. Well, look atus. Look at this goddamm world. Are we a part of nature? Are we even a friend to Mother Nature despite the wonderful gifts she`s offered us? We tear down her forests, we destroy her land, we destroy her "children." We ARE NOT what we could`ve been, due to the greed and superficiality of it all. That is the difference. We are no longer part of the "natural" scheme of things, and this is why this is all wrong. So don`t give me the excuse, "but we`re animals too." We gave that chance up a long time ago. We`re a different kind of animal that we should be ashamed of. Whenever you see an animal laying dead on the road, keep in mind that it is WE who have invaded their land, their homes, and taken their lives. It is WE who are slowly destroying our own lives.
Not knowing what`s going on is one thing, but being educated about all of the atrocities, yet still turning your back is another. Just think about what I`ve said next time you buy that fashionable leather coat, take a bite out of that hamburger, or go to a circus. Elephants and lionsdon`t naturally do that...and they aren`t happy, though the crowd may be. I`m not going to point a finger, but let your heart decide what`s right and wrong."
