Help! I am 17 and have been riding since I was 4. I have also leased two horses and I am sooooo ready for my own horse. You all know the difference betweeen riding your own horse and leasing. I told my parents that if they pay the EXACT SAME amount that they pay for lessons, I could afford the rest of the board and pay the total initial price. My dad supports me in everything and agrees with me that it's time to buy a horse of my own. However, my mom is against it just because she doesn't like horses! She won't give in no matter what! I have taken the initiative to research board costs at local barns, ferrier costs, vet costs, etc. She still won't give in. My dad and I looked at a prrospective horse to buy and I absolutely loved him, but my mom will not givve in. There is No reason why I shouldn't have a horse! I get great grades and take all honors and AP courses. I am very responsible and offered to give up softball to save some money! Please tell me how to get my mom on my side!
