Help! I am 17 and have been riding since I was 4. I have also leased two horses and I am sooooo ready for my own horse. You all know the difference betweeen riding your own horse and leasing. I told my parents that if they pay the EXACT SAME amount that they pay for lessons, I could afford the rest of the board and pay the total initial price. My dad supports me in everything and agrees with me that it's time to buy a horse of my own. However, my mom is against it just because she doesn't like horses! She won't give in no matter what! I have taken the initiative to research board costs at local barns, ferrier costs, vet costs, etc. She still won't give in. My dad and I looked at a prospective horse to buy and I absolutely loved him, but my mom will not give in. There is No reason why I shouldn't have a horse! I get great grades and take all honors and AP courses. I am very responsible and offered to give up softball to save some money! Please tell me how to get my mom on my side! Thanks for any help you can give me.
