Hello to all. It is great to see your site. I too have been researching the Lemasters (or LeMasters) family name. One thing that may help you out is the family motto. From the coat of arms and family geneology book I have, which has been passed down for several generations; the motto is "FERME ET FIDELE". Basic translation being strong and loyal(or faithful). I hope this is a bit of help. Take care

My name is Robert Lemasters, I have the old French Book of heraldry brought over by my Lemasters ancestors (along with some other relics and Lemaster family stories...the glass Easter egg from Venice...and a missing double handled sword without handle which was stolen from me 25 years ago in a burglary...family history says it was Templar..engraved with old French...with this razor (sword) I defend my God and honor etc . The book was made in 1622, and has hundreds of old French family names and descriptions of their coats of arms. Our name is listed which was Lemaitre (family bible of 1780 had this spelling), which was Anglicized by many, has in the book our coat of arms...old French...Azure De Or Tres Fonces...blue shield with three gold flowers (a specific flower)..The book is heavy leather, in good shape as are most quality books from that period...good linen rag paper, heavy leather...book has many wood cuts, some shields are in color as I remember, book is in storage in my attic...hope this helps.

My name is Robert Lemasters, I have a very old French book of heraldry, dated 1622, brought over by my Lemasters (LeMaitre) family ancestors. The bookk, heavy leather, large and printed on linen rag paper is in great condition, our name listed is Lemaitre(also in old family bible) our coat of arms is described with hundreds of old French families is Azur De Or Tres Fonces, as I remember as the book is in storage in my attic, which is to say a blue shield with three gold flowers of a certain kind...the flower name is in old French which I have seen at a Library (Peabody) in Baltimore...but do not know what would be the modern flower...hope this helps...also have family stories...such as the jewel and gold encrusted glass egg from Venice story that our ancestors when they escaped to America from enemies would break off pieces to live on...etc.

Dear Lemasters Family,
My name is Robert Lemasters, I have the old French book of heraldry brought over by my Lemasters family ancestors, bood is from 1622, in very good condition as are most books of the quality of times. The name in old French is LeMaitre, our family crest is three gold flowers on a blue shield. Azure, Tres de Or Fonce...blue shield with three gold flowers..a specific kind, or I should get the book out of storage in the attic and not from post from memory. The old heavy leather book is quite large and has wood cuts of old French family coats of arms, some shields are hand colored as I remember. Hope this is a help.

Another LeMasters appears! I also know a branch of my family that actually dropped the "s" and are just LeMaster, so you might want to add that to your research lists! We are a confusing people!

Well from California to England. My mum is a LeMasters living in the Bay area but I was born in England. Hows that for distance. What part of California are you from. I have many relatives out there.

I was looking at your list of Russell's Ancestors and noticed that you have Elizabeth Alice Cooksley listed as Abraham's wife. Can you tell me what your source is for this information. All other sources I've seen are unsure of this and none have a family name. Some say only that his wife was Elizabeth based on the information that he lived on Betty's Delight in Charles County, Maryland but then say that this tract of land was named before he purchased it. I would appreciate any information.

Thank you,
Rick Lemasters

Hello, just doing a little family history and ran across your site. My grandparents were from PA, and looks like I will be visiting your tree.
