I've been reading on several message boards how some are outraged at yesterday's GH episode, where the Oasis Stripclub Manager told Courtney to "take off all your clothes".....
I just finished watching the SoapNet Rerun and the content appeared fairly tame to me. The scene ended with Courtney getting ready to unbutton her blouse. Was the scene re-edited for the SoapNet reruns or is that the way it was shown on ABC?
Other than the fans discust, I hear praise once again for Alicia Leigh Willis. I want to see Sonny's reaction when he discovers his precious little sister is stripping at a sleazy bar...much like what he did when he "pimped" Karen Wexler(never saw the storyline, I've only revisited that history with synopses and PC's crossover with Sonny) in the 90's. THis is about the only recycled storyline I am enjoying right now.
Over on Port Charles, there's a rumor floating that the Supernatural Shadow Man (who is avenging robbery and abuse) will do a 180 and rape Livvie and that is how she will become pregnant. Didn't hear much internet hoopala about this one, but, c'mon folks.....You do the math. I smell protests for the little show that could, which, if not evident by the ratings and the conspiracy butchering, will be the final nail in the coffin for this series(Maybe that's why they're taping Shows in August....to Tape through March, so the lot can be vacated for a new soap or maybe no soap at all).
My question....do you think either of these plotlines will hurt the show or bring bad publicity to it?
As far as GH is concerned, NO. GH is now the mobster/shady block of programming(Welcome back Guza) that we were so adjusted to before Megan McTavish and JFP took over. And besides, al though Guza clearly tells biased storytelling and draws his own good/evil lines, at least there is character development.
Unline GH's sister show, PC, which has never given us a clear reason as to WHY Livvie is chasing Rafe. Certainly, she's not that crazy. If the rumored PC/ShadowMan rape happens, viewers WILL be outraged, because according to other spoilers for next week, it appears Livvie will lie about it(that's IF that rumor is true). Not that rape victims are always reporting their crime, but Livvie's sole purpose for keeping the rape a secret is to hope that she is pregnant so she can hold onto Rafe, which I find totally gross and completely out of character for anyone to do in that situation. Not to mention how The Idiot Writers will probably forget to have Livvie tested for STDs. So in my opinion, there would be much more backlash if the rumored PC storyline were to take place than what GH is actually sizzling. And quite frankly, I hope there IS.
What do you think? Controversy or nothing to get worked up about w/ either storyline?
