Subject: Duquesne press release - Volleyball

Duquesne dropped its A-10 opener Saturday night at the Palumbo Center
falling 3-1 to George Washington. The Dukes were down 2-0 before taking the
third match 30-26 despite six ties. A heartbreaking fourth match followed
with the Dukes overcoming an 24-29 deficit to knot the match at 29-29, led
by back-to-back aces from Brooke Saunders. Four ties would follow before
the 35-33 Colonial victory.

Sherene Lemonias led the Dukes with 16 kills and 17 digs while Saunders
posted 11 kills, 14 digs and a match-highs of six blocks and four service
aces. George Washington was led by Ruth Lazzari with 18 kills while Sarah
Hokom led the match with 20 digs and added 17 kills.

Duquesne returns to action Sept. 28 as they travel to Temple.
