BASEBALL
The baseball team ended the 2001 season with a 12-5 loss at Fordham dropping the Dukes season record to 21-30. The Dukes did hold the edge at home, winning nine and losing eight at the Green Tree Borough field. Junior Gary Lee finished the season with a team-best .344 average while junior Jason Startari led the squad in hits (61), homeruns (12), doubles (14), RBI (44) and stolen bases (21). Sophomore Jim Popp posted a staff-best 4.55 ERA, senior Andy Mason had a team-best four wins, senior Matt McMunn fanned a team-high 47 and Brian Lowder recorded a school record eight saves.
