Last week when I went to the dr he told me there was no reason to think that I would have ds early or even on time and that no, he would not try to speed things up for me. Needless to say I left his office less than happy. Today, I went with the expectations of having him measure my belly once again and listen to ds's heartbeat and that be it. BUT I have whined to dd's best friend's mom so much that she talked my dr into checking me just in case he could get something going for me. It pays to have friends, or for your child to have friends anyway. So he's got his hand stuck up there and says I'm completely effaced but not dilated, then he goes oh yeah you are, you're dilated three. He had told me a couple of months ago that I might not dilate because of scar tissue from a LEEP and if that was the case he'd have to "break" the scar so I said there goes that scar, and he's like yep there goes that scar. I guess he "broke" the scar in the process of checking my cervix is why I didnt' seem dilated at first. After he saw I was dilated, I felt him kinda run his finger around the inside of my cervix, it was uncomfortable...kinda like a pressure feeling...I'm assuming he stripped my membranes. Therefore, I may have a baby by morning woohoo. When I left he said, see ya in a day or two and the nurse that made my next appointment looked at my chart and said here's your card but I doubt I'll be seeing you. AND there's a full moon tonight...according to the weather channel. So I kinda excited.

I know it's possible to be dilated three for months and that if he did strip my membranes it doesn't always work but I'm hoping so hard. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.
