Hi I have read some of your stories and the fears you have,I am new to the computer and surprized to get into where I am.I have been on Gabapentin 800mg 3 times a day since 2001.I am also on Tramadol 200mg twice a day plus 50mg amitriptyline and a whole lot more.I will try to keep my story as short as I can,I had an appendcitis that burst and I was cut from belly button to pubic bone,i went through an horrendice 2 months in hospital amost dying several times, believe me Gabapentin did help I am far from pain free and still the hospital Dr's.are searching for other medicinine that "may" help.I have learned to pace my life as these pills do make you so tierd I get my make up on do my hair and I am exausted, need to lie down for an hour or so then do some light housework resting in between I know it does'nt sound like much of a life but at this stage I am alive and glad to be.When the nurse took the clips out of my wound ten minutes later my whole belly burst wide open this was 17 days after opp.I was rushed to theatre and I feel I was grabed together like a potatoe sack Seemingly my pain is due to adhesions. If you are new to these pills give them a chance I just have to get used to suffering this pain for the rest of my life. Good luck to all of you out there Lorrain from Scotland
