I have had 2 surgeries on my back for complete herniations of L4,L5,S1. After the first one I was still in horrendous pain. MRI revealed they had "missed" some of the disk material and I had the second surgery 6 weeks after the first!! Now have chronic Nerve pain in right leg 24/7. As an RN also, I would say NO, it is not normal tobe in your condition after 10 years. I would request further investigation i.e MRI, Myelogram.
