Hi

Saw your article on the chronic pain site. I would like to suggest that you look into Reiki. (See our site - www.onreiki.com for more info.) It is used for fibromyalgia and may help your mom. The quote below comes from http://www.breastcancer.org/cmty_trans_2002_4_18.html.

“We use probably 50-80 percent of nonpharmacologic methods in our NIH pain clinic, meaning non-medication. The things we use include massage, relaxation, hypnosis, and Reiki therapy, which is also very helpful in fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndromes.” - Ann Berger, R.N., M.S.N., M.D., Medical oncologist specializing in pain treatment, Chief of the Pain and Palliative Care Service at the National Institute of Health in Washington, D.C.

I think that Reiki would also help you in your role as a caregiver - both to give you a concrete way to help you mom, and for your own health.

If you are interested, I would be happy to help you find a teacher in your area.
