Subject: Foot Pain Author: Jeff [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 05:06:33 10/09/04 Sat Lisa, I appreciate the suffering you are going through ! I have severe pain in both feet. I have a Charcot Joint in my left foot but pain is equally bad in both feet. I manage in the daytime when I am active. Night time is worse. I get shock jolts in my feet that really hurt. I take Gabapentin which helps. It dulls the pain sensation if I keep my feet still while sleeping. I feel great in morning after my feet have been elavated slightly all night. I try to be positive about things but Charcot Joint is just another concern. Finally I have my BP and BG under control. So I keep persevering ! Doctors have been great and do the best they can. Am reluctant to have surgery on Charcot Joint due to risks of complications furthermore i am a slow healer as is to be expected with diabetics. I prefer a brace or orthopedic shoes. Meet next week with specialist to evaluate stage of Charcot Joint and his recommendation for remedial action. All the Best I am learning to suffer gracefully...lol If there is such a thing !
