I am so glad to have read about your sucess with gabapentin. Following back surgery I was having such a hard time with memory. Since I was taking a strong pain medication and the gabapentin I decided I could not stand it any longer and quit taking both drugs. Needless to say it was a mistake. I had not been told that the gabapentin was for the neropathy and thought it was contributing to my memory problems. I went through a very stressful withdrawal and my doctor advised me to get back on the gabapentin and to increase the dose. It really has made a difference and I am thinking much better. The pain and numbness are still a problem but not as bad as before
