*Mousethief follows like chain lightning, slapping them with his dagger as he catches them.* How ya' like it now? *A huge rat, twice the size of mousethief jumps over, sword drawn, mousethief stabs the other four and turns to face the rat, they battle, each slicing at each other, both scoring several hits on the opponent, Mousethief gets a deep gash in the chest, but he retaliates by sending both daggers into it's neck, killing any other creature, but this rat seemed not to take any notice, he draws another sword, scoring 10 deep hits in mousethief's side, neck, chest and back. But he didn't feel the blows, something is happening in his mind, he is trying hard to remember something, then the rat speaks* Hah! I got ya again! Just like when you attacked my clan, remember? *The realization hits mousethief like a thunderbolt. This was the same rat that got away after killing his badger parents who had adopted the young mouse as his first set of parents were killed. The same rat that whipped him and tormented him, tortured him for half a season. This was the leader rat! How he survived, mousethief didn't know, but he would NEVER let that rat torture another thing, he found renewed energy as he made a scything swipe, flipping clear over the head, scoring five hits as he did, landing, stabbing at the back, he slapped the rat with the flats of both daggers, stabbing deep as the rat bent his back in agony, the oversized rat turned, but the thief had vanished, then he made a gurgling noise as two twin daggers dug deep in the neck, mousethief jerked backwards, and thus ended verminclaw, the largest rat to ever live. Mousethief wiped his daggers, staggered over to the abbey pond, then he fell, his eyes misting over, talking with his long-gone parents at the dark forest* Now, I have avenged your death, Lonestripe! (which was the name of his badger father) And yours, Mara! (his badger mother) And both of you, Father, Mother! *mousethief began to breath slowly and painfully, the chest cuts taking their toll. Along with the other terrible injuries he sustained*
