Task 12

The communicative activity that I chose is called 'Spelling Bee' and this game is from http://longman-elt.com/young_learners/teachers/tt_games.htm and I am going to tell you how the game works.
A 'Spelling Bee' is a game between two teams (usually the whole class divided in two). Each team chooses a name and the name is written on the scoreboard.
· Ask a member of one team to spell a word. If it is spelled correctly, the team wins one point.
· Then ask a member of the other team to spell a different word. Again, if it is spelled correctly, the team wins one point. If not the other team can try to spell the word, receiving a point if they are correct.
So, according to Littlewood, this activity could fit the category called “Sharing and Processing Information.” Although this activity is not a complex one it can be a good idea for teachers to teach to young learners.
