Subject: Task 8

1) Write a narrative telling us your learning history. Include your classroom experiences and all the actions you performed in different contexts in order to learn English.
First of all I had motivation. I wanted to learn english for my own reasons I have never been “forced” to learn it, as many of my friends were. There were so much english “around” me and I just wanted to understand the language. I felt in love with music first. It had so much melody, it souded so good and I just felt so frustated by listening to them without understant a word. So I decided to learn it. I tried to learn it by myself, without anybody’s help. I didn’t have much luck with such method so I’ve started to look for an english course, a good one, but it had to be cheap because I didn’t have much money. I enrolled myself in an english course and I got a especial deal with the owner – I just had to pay for the material. It was a wonderful experience. I loved the course and everything about it. Another thing that really helped me through my learning process was cable tv. I’ve learn a lot by watching native speakers talking. I also had english classes at school, but they were so awful, and I’ve learned so little that I think it’s not even worth while.
2. Analyze you learning history according to the communicative principles and tell us if there were some of its characteristics in your learning experience.
Well, most part of my learning process was based on communicative principles, especially at the language course I went to. They motivated the students to participate and most part of the classes were in english. The only thing I didn’t like so much was that “the conversation” was just at the very end of the course. But in general, it was pretty communicative. There were lots of pair works, the techears always did some warm-up before the activities. Too bad I can’t say the same about my school experiences
