Task-based language learning consists in using tasks to create and motivate interaction between students aiming exchange of information as similar as in a real situation. In other words, the target language is used in a way that what they know is practiced, and at the same time the opportunity to learn new language is created. Thus, the task oriented to language learning should have lack of information where students are encouraged to interact seeking for task complementation. Some examples of Task-based Approach can be games or problem solving where information has to be exchange between students.

The idea that Task-Based Language learning creates an similar environment to the one where first language is acquired making easy for second language acquisition; furthermore, given opportunity to the students to improve in a meaningful way where no-stressful situations are promoted, and creating facilities for language acquisition have been defended by linguistics as Krashen and Cumming.
