Subject: Thirteenth Task

Examine one textbook and choose a good communicative activity. Describe it and then classfy that activity according to the types presented by Littlewood.
Discussing communities.
a. Work in small groups of three or four.
1. Choose a community that has changed a great deal in recent years. It can be in your own country or in another country. It may even be a community that has now died.
2. Describe the community: its location, its traditions and customs, language, religion, means of employment.
3. Describe the opportunities that exist/do not exist for the younger generation. Think about its community spirit, its communication with the outside world and any government support/lack of support.
4. Say what you would do/wouldo have done as a young adult growing up in this community. Would you leave/have left to make a new life elsewhere or are/were there enough opportunities to make you stay?
b. One person from each group takes notes on the group's opinions. Tell you group's opinions to the rest of the class. Remember to use appopriate introductory phrases to your opinions, where necessary.
Example:
As far as we're concerned,...etc.
Other groups can agree or disagree with your opinions.
This communicative activity, according to the types presented by Littlewood, is Sharing and processing information.
