I am afraid more PNG'ans will express similar dissatisfaction towards this movie. But aren't all (most) movies like that? Set somewhere? As in The Titanic, imagine the controversial The Passion of the Christ, to name few? I may be wrong because I don’t watch movies that much.

What happened at Gold Coast's Mt Tambourine was not a documentary! So setting that movie at Kokoda (PNG) is insignificant! It doesn’t take the brains of a rocket scientist to discern the costs and risks associated with a production of such a film in PNG. Hence the Director tailored the scenes and settings to suit his budget - end of the story! I am certain he fully searched literatures and images to sufficiently depict and portray the bloody scene at Kokoda to his completeness and satisfaction, with digital enhancements and manipulations taking care of rest of the worry.

I think being too concern over precise Kokoda replica at Kokoda (PNG), especially settings etc..., don’t mix with current commercial movie productions, but would have been better if otherwise...
