You have a good point... just because a contestant has been to state in the past does not mean they are going to do better than the newcomers, and just because the newcomers have not yet been to state does not mean they will not get Top 10 or actually win. I think some of the returning contestants feel they are going to do better than some of the rest just because they have had previous titles, everyone is judged fairly and the same and the judges are not going to base the score on whether the contestant has had other titles OBVIOUSLY since 2 of our past Princess winners were newcomers.
