Subject: 專家稱全球暖化將使喜馬拉雅山冰川萎縮,危害亞洲大部地區民生

路透北京電---氣象學家周一在北京表示，全球暖化可能引起喜馬拉雅山及青藏高原的大面積冰川融化，威脅到亞洲大部分地區的民生。

專家稱，工農業排放的溫室氣體使氣溫升高，已經導致喜馬拉雅山脈的冰川出現萎縮。

「如果氣溫按照現在的速度繼續升高，青藏高原上的冰川將迅速萎縮，可能將從1995年的50萬平方公里縮小到2030年的10萬平方公里，」中國科學院的吳紹洪在新聞發布會上說。

喜馬拉雅山和青藏高原上的冰川是中國長江、中南半島湄公河、以及印度恆河的主要源頭。

另一位中國氣象學家秦大河則認為冰川融合速度不會這麼快。他預測青藏高原上的冰川到本世紀中葉將消失四分之一。

但專家們稱，即便是按照保守的估計，冰川的消失也會危及亞洲大部分地區的降雨量、河流流量以及農業生產。以冰川融水為源頭的河流可能會在冰川融化時暴漲，然後在冰川消失後乾涸。

「冰川對國民經濟和人民生活都非常重要，」秦大河說。他解釋道，冰川是重要水源，且對亞洲的氣候影響深遠。(完)
