In reply to: Dakkan 's message, "(PART THREE) sorry it's so short, but it's all I've got typed as of now!" on 08:07:51 01/21/02 Mon

Silverclaw had armed himself with his double-edged saber. After strapping it to his back, Dakkan’s father stole quietly out of the camp at noon. The solitary otter crouched behind a large boulder, waiting.
After several minutes, another otter joined Silverclaw. This new otter was smaller and carried a light spear. He was named Watercress, and he was Watertrat’s older brother. He had agreed to accompany Silverclaw on the rescue attempt. Both conversed briefly in low tones before setting off to follow the clear fox tracks, which led from the frozen river.
As they swiftly jogged through the snowy forest, following the tracks, Watercress looked up at Silverclaw. “I hope we find those foxes and get Watertrat back, sir. I promised our father I would save my brother, since Dad’s just too old to go out and fight foxes anymore.”
Staring straight ahead, Silverclaw nodded. “I hope we can find him, too.”
Unbeknownst to the two otters, they had picked up a tagalong. Dakkan sped from tree to tree, keeping out of sight and clutching his tiny knife. He had a ridiculous look on his face that he deemed to be tough and ferocious. “I’m coming, Watertrat!” he grunted determinedly as he ran to catch up with his dad and Watertrat’s brother.
