Subject: 閱讀和寫作

收到出版社寄贈兩集《老鼠記者》，意大利人原著，據說在當地銷量超過三百萬冊，看到人家的書籍暢銷，都感到高興。可惜香港人口近七百萬，出版業始終不成氣候。
有些朋友和讀者問我為什麼出書出得那麼慢，其實皇冠的出版經理年初已叫我上去傾談合作事宜，普普亦製作了我一本關於日本的書，但覺現在市場欠佳，看定一點才出書也不遲。
最近有大學製作香港文學小說光碟，選收我一篇，那是我第一本小說集其中一篇〈參商傳說〉，真惆悵。如果舊作備受欣賞，新作反遭忽視，相信作者要好好思考自己的創作；所以我寧願專注寫好一本書，也不願為趕出版而將作品印出來。
想不到留言板由2003.05.05開始運作以來，已有近萬人次到此一遊 ，可惜我不懂得將人次計算器整出來。當然，比起那些一日幾萬人次的網站是微不足道的，但既然來到留言板，不妨寫幾句閒聊讀書和生活，希望大家樂意說說自己的意見，尤其是近日的讀書心得。
