Surely, democracy and social justice are fundamental values that everyone should stand up for. The problem is that for some people in Hong Kong, democracy and social justice have become pawns for their political future and fame. They simply want to become 'heroes' of democracy, and have no intention of practising democracy themselves. They have no patience for opposing views, and before you are able to embark on any meaningful discussion about their own deeds, they accuse you of being anti-democratic.

Democracy and social justice should be upheld. But the way that they are practised by some people in HK looks like another form of totalitarianism. And it certainly takes a good deal of courage, as Ms Kwan has, to point out their hypocrisy.
