Subject: Fan Fiction: The Truth is in the Heart PART 2

Last time: Nora showed up at the mansion to tell Clint the truth and found him with Kim.
Bo decided waiting around for Nora to come back after telling Clint was a poor use of his time.
=================================================================================

Bo found himself sitting in driveway, staring at the mansion. He was both relieved and nervous seeing Nora’s car in the driveway…and the limo. They were both there, inside the walls. He wanted to know what was going on in there, but he wanted to respect Nora’s request to do this alone.

Nora turned around in the hall and put her hand to her forehead, taking two steps away from Clint.

“Excuse me Nora. What did you just say?” Clint whispered, still shocked by her response. He knew she and Bo were having an affair, but this was not the reaction he was waiting for.

Nora spoke quietly, “I said I deserve whatever just happened in there.” She turned around a pointed straight at Clint and said louder, with anger in her voice, “But…but that doesn’t make it right.”

“Nora….”

“No. No.” Nora began to lose her anger, and her intention to lay Clint out. “Oh God. I would be a hypocrite if I stood here and yelled at you for carrying on with that…. that child… in there. Clint, I have to tell you the truth.” Her stomach sank. The moment was here. Here we go Nora thought to herself. She took a deep breath.

“I came here to tell you…” Nora trailed off as the tears filled her eyes. She swallowed hard. “I came here to tell you that I love you, I really do. You are a good man. But” She paused, and looked at his face.

Clint stared at his wife. He could see her agony and her regret. His faced softened a bit “Nora… just say it. Please, just say it.”

Bo made it to the front door. He put his hand on the knob and took a deep breath. He didn’t want to interrupt what was going on in there, but he was shamelessly worried. Bo turned the knob and cracked it open. Silence. “That’s weird” he said. Bo expected to hear yelling, crying, something. He walked in the foyer. Still nothing. He started to panic. He moved fast into the living room. Nothing. Within about 2 seconds he was halfway up the stairs when he heard her voice. He stopped mid step.

“Clint.” The tears were falling harder now. “Clint.” She covered her mouth with her fingers and shook her head. “Clint, I can’t stay married to you, because I am in love with Bo.” A sob escaped her lips. “I’m so sorry.”
She looked him straight in the eye, desperate to make him see the genuine pain this confession was causing her.

Clint finally breathed. He was actually unaware he was holding his breath, considering he knew what was coming. Knowing didn’t make it any better. He feared that sentence from the day he finally let himself love her.
“Nora.” Clint was pained. He reached out and took her hand. “Nora, I can’t say that I am shocked. I am hurt and angry, but not shocked.”

Bo’s jaw dropped to the floor. He could hear everything carrying down the hallway. Was this really happening? His brother was alarmingly calm. Bo stayed right where he was, preparing himself in case Clint finally lost it.

“Clint, you’re scaring me.” Nora was completely thrown by her husband’s reaction. “I just told you I am in love with your brother. Clint. I’m leaving you.”

“Nora, can I tell you something. Honestly?” Nora shook her head. She didn’t know what to say. “I had a heads up.” Clint hung his head. “You and my BROTHER were ratted out. I’ve known for a few days about you two. I’ve had a chance to process this. Think it out. And trust me, I have run the gamut of emotions”

Nora’s mouth opened and her shoulders dropped. She was stunned. Who told him?! Who knew about her and Bo?! She had no time to ask her questions.

“I was furious when I first heard. It’s a good thing you guys were 3,000 miles away. It was ugly around here for a while. But you being in Seattle gave me time to think. My emotions were all over the place. I kept thinking about you and Bo, in Seattle, carrying on…..”

Nora quickly jumped in… “Clint, Bo and I are not ‘carrying on.’ I can promise you that. I have not cheated on you!” Her tone and sense of immediacy rising. She wanted to make one thing clear: no vows have been broken. “Though it looks as though you can’t say the same thing.” She said pointing to the bedroom.

Clint had turned his back on his wife and was staring at the hallway wall… he suddenly felt a rush of guilt wash over him. He turned around. “excuse me. What did you just say.”

“Clint, Bo and I have not been having an affair. We’ve kissed, but that’s it. Both of us love you too much to hurt you like that.” Nora was speaking fast, making sure she got it all out. “Neither of us expected it to happen, but it did. I’m so sorry…..”

Clint let the silence sit. He didn’t know what to say. He was sure they were having an affair. Suddenly his plan seemed too extreme, and regret sank in. “Well, that child in there… is nothing more than a prop. Now it’s my turn for honesty and confessions.”

Bo was frozen in his shoes. He didn’t know what to do. He felt guilty for listening to the conversation between a husband and a wife confessing their truths…. Even if he is the man in the middle. But he couldn’t walk away. He wanted to hear the rest of their conversation. He mostly wanted to hear what Nora was going to say… he wanted to hear her true feelings.
