Subject: FF Challenge - Starting Over Again

I love a good challenge! Enjoy!

****************

Nora arrived at Bo’s old garret. She put her hand up to knock, but noticed the door was already open. She pushed it open slowly and stuck her head in. “Bo?”

“Yeah, come on in Nora,” came Bo’s voice from somewhere deep inside.

“I got your message to come by the garret.” She stepped in and looked around at the empty place. “Where are you?”

“Hey, I’m right here,” Bo said coming out into the living area. He walked over to her and kissed her. “So, what do you think?”

Nora looked a little confused. “About what?”

Bo backed away smiling and spread his arms, indicating around the room.

Nora’s eyes grew wide as she looked at Bo and then at the room, and she shook her head the light bulb not going on yet.

“Well, I never sold it, and it’s been sitting empty since Delphina left-”

“You had Madame Delphina living here?”

“Sure. Anyway, I overheard Cole’s friend, Markko, talking about apartments, and I thought about this place. I haven’t been here in months, so I thought I’d stop in and make sure it’s still in good shape.”

“You’re thinking of renting it out to Markko?”

Bo’s face fell, “You know, Counselor, for a smart woman, you’re awfully slow today.”

Nora’s face scrunched up as she looked around again. “Wait a minute,” she said, a smile starting to cross her face, “you’re not going to rent it out to Markko. You’re thinking that we…” she motioned between the two of them.

“You got it. I thought maybe we…you, me, and Matthew…could move in here.” He shrugged and put his hands in his pockets, “So, whattaya say?”

“I always thought this place was quaint.”

“Quaint?”

“Yes, quaint. And with lots of character.” She started moving around the room, over to the railing, running her fingers across it, moving to the doors leading out to the balcony and looking out for several seconds. “There’s just one problem.”

Bo’s eyebrow went up, “What’s that?”

“It’s got cooties.”

“Cooties?”

“Lindsay cooties.”

Bo couldn’t help but chuckle. “What, are we five? You really think this place has Lindsay cooties?”

“Yes. She was the last woman you had here-”

“What about Delphina?”

Nora looked straight-faced back at Bo, causing Bo to laugh again.

“Actually, having Delphina here for awhile helped get rid of the cooties.”

“How?”

“Well, she uses all those smelly candles and incense and stuff. I’m sure that she just shooed all the cooties right out of here.”

Nora set her mouth. “Hm. That might have helped. But I still smell them.”

“How do you suggest we get rid of them? Do they have listings for ‘Cootie Removers’ in the phone book?”

“No, but…” Nora’s voice trailed off as she moved toward Bo. She ran her fingers up the buttons on his shirt, ending on his lips. He kissed her finger before she moved it. “I have an idea.” She replaced her finger with her lips, kissing him quickly before dashing toward the door.

“Wait a minute! Nora, where are you going?” Bo called.

Nora stuck her head back in, “Just stay here. I’ll be back in a bit.”

Bo stared at the door and shook his head, amused confusion written on his face.

20 minutes later…

Nora arrived back at the garret with a large box. She struggled outside with trying to balance the box and find the door handle. Bo heard her and opened the door. She about fell into the garret, but he caught her.

“Hi.”

“Ha, I’m back.”

“With presents?”

“Sort of.”

“What do we have here?” Bo asked sitting the box down. “Can I open it?”

“Sure,” she said smiling.

Bo opened the box and a smile grew on his face. He looked at Nora.

The smile on her face matched his and she just nodded.

Bo pulled the CD player out and plugged it into one of the outlets. He put in the CD and pushed play. ‘Unchained Melody’ began and Bo and Nora circled each other, slowly closing the gap between them. Bo’s arm snaked around Nora’s waist and hers around his neck. He held his hand out, and without breaking their stare, her hand found it.

They were locked in to one another as the music continued. Their foreheads came together, and their eyes closed. Nora’s head found it’s place on Bo’s shoulder. That familiar place that made her feel safe. That made her feel like she was home. The scent of her hair wafted into Bo’s senses, and he took a deep breath. That familiar scent that he had locked in the back of his memories, never thinking he’d ever be this close to it again. Though there was no room between them, he somehow pulled her closer, and it was hard to believe they could even breathe. But they circled their way around the room as if gliding on air, just like they used to. They came to the middle of the room and swayed as the song came to its closing bars. Bo turned into Nora’s hair, nuzzling her neck, Nora letting out an audible sigh.

“I’ve missed you so much, Red.”

She pulled away slightly, resting her forehead on his once more. A tear slid down her cheek, and he kissed it away.

“I’m scared, Bo.”

Bo lifted Nora’s chin, waiting for her to look at him. “I’m so sorry for letting you down all those years ago. I was so stupid for not trusting in what we had.”

“Oh, Bo. We both were,” she added softly, as she drew him into a hug, resting her head again on that familiar spot.

The tears began to well in Bo’s eyes, and he shut them tight to keep them from falling. They stood there for several moments just holding each other as the music continued in the background.

Nora sniffled and realized she’d been crying. She lifted her head slowly, “Oh, I’m sorry,” she said wiping her face with her hand, “I got your shirt wet.”

Bo just smiled at her and took her face in his hands, wiping tears from her cheeks with his thumbs. “You can cry on me any time.”

Nora returned his smile.

Bo noticed the time on his watch, “Oh, I didn’t realize what time it was. I told Matthew I’d pick him up from school today.”

“Oh, that’s already taken care of.”

“What?”

“I asked Rachel if she’d pick him up.”

“Why?”

“Well,” Nora started pulling away from Bo and walking back toward the box, “the dance was just round one of the de-cootiefying.”

“How many rounds are there?”

“I guess that’s up to us,” she explained as she pulled several blankets and pillows out of the box. “I figured this de-cootiefying would take some time, so while I was out, I got Rachel to keep an eye on Matthew for the rest of the night, all my court appointments were finished for the day, and I delegated all my paperwork out to my minions,” she continued, spreading the blankets out onto the floor. After spreading the last blanket on the floor, she sauntered over to Bo. As she reached him, she unbuttoned the top button on his shirt, moving down each button slowly, and began kissing his neck.

The breath caught in Bo’s throat, and he choked out “Oh, I hope this takes all night.”

“At least,” Nora smiled seductively.

Bo wrapped Nora again in his arms and they began kissing, softly at first, but growing in intensity with each step they took toward their makeshift bed. As they reached the edge of the blankets, they began slowly undressing one another, savoring every touch. Nora breathed in sharply as Bo’s hands ran from her shoulders to her hands as he helped her out of her shirt.

“Your hands are freezing,” Bo said taking her hands in his and bringing them to his mouth.

“I’m so nervous,” Nora admitted sheepishly, gazing down at Bo‘s chest. “It’s been so long.”

“It’s just me, Red.”

Nora looked up at Bo and saw that smile. That reassuring smile that always made know that everything would be okay. Her hands reached out from his and caressed his face, “Have I told you today how much I love you?”

“Yeah. Every time you show me that smile. Still gets me every time.”

The smile on Nora’s face grew wider, and she bit her lip slightly. She pulled Bo into another kiss, and the two found themselves moving down to the floor.

Awhile later…

Bo and Nora were spooning on the floor, Bo resting his head in his hand, lightly running his fingers up and down Nora’s arm. He leaned forward and kissed her bare shoulder. “I’m hungry.”

Nora giggled, “Again?”

Bo laughed, “Well, yes, but I’m REALLY hungry, actually, too.”

There was a knock on the door.

“Perfect timing,” Nora stated.

“What?”

She moved out from under Bo’s arm, wrapping one of the blankets tightly around her. She grabbed wallet from her purse and pulled out some money. She reached the door as the delivery guy had his hand up to knock again. “Buchanan?” he asked.

“Yeah. Here you go.” The delivery guy took the money and handed Nora the bag of food. He reached in his pocket to give her change. “Keep the change. Thank you for being on time.”

The delivery guy looked back down at the obviously large bill and let out an excited “Thank you!” as Nora shut the door. She turned back to Bo, “Ask and ye shall receive.”

“When did Ming become a mind reader?”

“When I called earlier and special ordered,” Nora smirked. She made her way back down to their bed, “I knew that we’d need our nourishment throughout this process-”

“Of de-cootiefying?”

“Yes. So I made sure that we would be…satiated,” she said as she moved in and kissed his neck softly.

Bo took a hard swallow, “I am…um…yeah…you just covered all the bases tonight didn’t you?”

“Hmm. Several times,” she winked. “And the game ain’t over yet.”

When I heard they were going to move into the Garrett I had the same thoughts about 'Cooties' since the last woman to live there with Bo was Lindsay.

'Unchained Melody' hmmm? I wonder where you got that song from? (Wink, Wink) ;) LOL

Great Fan Fiction, certainly something I would love to see on screen, both discussing that Lindsay had lived there AND the dancing and love making. Nice Job!

I loved this FF...I, too, have been worried about the cooties...I loved Nora's reaction to Bo's suggestion that they live there...it was just about what mine was when I heard...WTF???

I loved "you can cry on me anytime" and the "it's just me, Red" ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Let the de-cootiefying begin!!!

Great job!
