LOL...okay, well, we do what most Americans do on the 4th. Cookout, do/watch fireworks, etc. When my husband came to the US, he really meant for it to be temporary (he was offered a job to help start-up a company, and signed on for 2 years). However, as a Brit, he has always been dissatisfied with the Royal family/class system there, and has always admired the US for it's system of government.

Well, Mr. Blonde's 2 years have stretched into 7, and he's just gotten his green card this year. In three years, he will be a citizen. He takes great pains to explain to Breezy every year the reason that we celebrate the 4th, and as a Brit, he is able to give her a unique perspective, or at least one most American kids don't get. He has explained to her about the monarchy, and about the Revolutionary War, wanting her to have a clear as possible understanding about what is behind all the fireworks.

So... on the 4th, we get dressed up in our red, white, and blue and have a blast :)
