Hi Mike,

Due to "extenuating circumstances" I made the decision to cut my training intensity back and delay getting into the hard stuff until after mid April. I have mainly been doing off season type work and learning more about what it takes to be good at TT (from the Masters guys).

I now see that I am going to have to bump up the training quite a bit to get to top form by September (State Championships - Fiesta Island). I'm increasing my distances and increasing intensity to the levels I'll need to sustain top speeds for a 57-58 min 40k.

I am at about the same level of performance as I was last fall ... which is not where I had intended to be right now.

I'm training 5x per week now and including 1 strength/climbing day, 1 short interval day, 1 long interval day & 3-hour ride and 2 days at 80% MHR. Most of it is trainer work.

I plan on going to Bicycle Sports Encinitas to get fit by Dave Bunce and John Cobb when he visits the store. I want to make sure I am set up correctly.

The motivation behind this site is to increase the awareness and popularity of time trial racing in the area, similar to SD Tri and LA Tri club's approaches to tri (but specific to TT and independent of clubs).

I'm racing this Sunday and next.

See you around, 28+ mph is flying!!, what are your season goals - Kona?

Gary
