Put it on your downtube, you have seen the A & M wind tunnel tests done by Cobb which say that the rear wheel gets a draft off the seat tube mounted water bottle

Which is also where Lance mounts his.

I now run a bottle for all TT's, even 10 milers. Definately 40k. The difference (if any) in aerodynamics will be nil compared to the benefit of being hydrated and cool.

Keep the motor cool, keep the fluids onboard! Another benefit is being able to drink right up to the start and not being thirsty during the race.

Not running a bottle is less of a benefit than running one - [less hydration and aero benefits].
