Subject: Post Your Feedback Regarding the Downfall of Canarsie

I'd like to get some serious opinions & feedback here in regards to what YOU personally believe the reasons were that Canarsie changed so quickly, and what were the causes.

My personal opinion is as follows:

The presence of the Breuklyn Projects was a huge monkey wrench that the city of NY placed in Canarsie in the 1960's. This then led to everyone north of Ave J, between Rkwy Pkwy & East 108th Street running for their lives when the real estate offices like Fillmore & Price illegally blockbusted the neighborhood, telling everyone via phone calls that the "blacks" were moving in, to hurry up and sell before it's too late. I was there. I got the phone calls.

I blame the real estate greedy bastards for what happened to Canarsie, who used fear & manipulation to force people to sell.

Don't blame the realtors so much, blame Dinkins for allowing the influx of low-income familes into Bayview.

I absolutley blame Fillmore & Price for the changes in canarsie. Do you remember when the real estate office was burned down??? You would think they would have learned from that....
