The Ministry of Culture’s “Vadimir Nazor” Awards ceremony takes place in a richly appointed room in the Dverce palace in Zagreb, Croatia. There is a long table at the front of the room, at which several dignitaries, all formally attired in suits, sit. Goran Visnjic sits in the front row of the audience. He is the only award winner not wearing a suit. Instead, he wears beige slacks and a plain, white, long-sleeved shirt. His sunglasses hang hooked onto the top of his open-collared shirt. Throughout the ceremony, Goran sits bent over, leaning forward, with his elbows resting on his knees. Sitting this way makes his head level with the rest of the audience. I think he does this is because if he were to sit up the back of his head would block the film cameras that are filming the ceremony from the back of the room. Like all of those present to receive an award, GV holds a hard-covered, leather-bound folder. As other artists, muscians, composers etc., receive their awards, GV sits, listening and watching. Twice he uses his left hand to push back his hair. Once or twice he brings his hand up to his mouth in a quick movement, then lowers it. It is impossible to read the names of the speakers that appear on the screen as he or she speaks, this is due to the poor quality of the streaming video broadcasting from Croatia. Now a Professor stands and describes the accomplishments of the winners in the area of filmmaking. The first winner is either a director or a cinematographer. The second winner is Goran Visnjic, who stays seated, looking downward at his hands or the floor as everyone claps and we see clips from Duga Mracna Noc. He licks his lips, and glances up at clip of him singing in DMN. He looks very shy and humble as he looks mostly downward and camera closes in on his face. Goran brings his hand to face, lowers that hand, and then looks up at the speaker. With the Professor’s introduction over, Goran stands, walks up to the podium, and accepts his award from the Minister of Culture. As he shakes the hand of the Minister and quietly thanks him, he clasps the man's elbow with his left hand. Next, Goran shakes the hand of each of the dignitaries sitting at the table.
