Date Posted: 06:18:19 02/08/05 Tue In reply to: Chris 's message, "Re: Parabéns Goran!" on 17:28:00 02/07/05 Mon Chris, first post was in Portuguese, and the second one, not 100% sure, but I think in Spanish, neither one in Croatian! I must say that I think it is REALLY defeating for person who considers him/herself to posses basic high school educated, that can’t even distinguish language that has Latin origin from one that has Slavic origin… When it comes to languages I truly believe in the old Latin one “Quod linguas calles tot homines vales” – “How many languages you speak, that’s how many men you worth”. I never learned nor Portuguese nor Spanish, but I basically understood what they ware saying. So, considering no one with proper knowledge of these two language(it could be that both posts are in Portuguese, not quit sure) volunteered for translating, I’ll try. Maria Dutra said that she is form Brazil and that she saw Goran for the first time while watching Spartacus movie. She considers him to be very handsome man, and also thinks that he looks different then typical Hollywood actors, that he is in some way special. She is also looking forward seeing more movies that Goran will amplity with his acting and appearance. Sandra agrees with Maria completely. She didn’t saw Goran in Spartacus (for the fist time… ?), but in ER (didn’t completely understand this part, but I think that this is what she meant), and she also thinks that he is veeeeery good locking guy. She said that she didn’t quit understand the word “esquecidos” in Maria’s post, and she’s asking her to write a synonym word if possible for her to understand. Chris, I know that this is your site and you have every right to demand that people write in your language, but you must know that when people write in another language they are not doing that to deliberately talk behind peoples back or offend anyone, but they just don’t know enough English to start writing in that, for them, foreign language. If this was my site, I know I would be delighted to see this many people all around the globe expressing their sympathies for Goran Visnjic. That’s what this site is all about, or am I wrong?
