She said she was probably still on the steps when...(I guess you get to figure the rest out) Sam got upset with herself and said "I'm so stupid!", then stopped herself and told him something like "You came over here to say something. Just say it - it's freezing." He said, "I screwed up, and I'm sorry. Just tell Alex (hesitated a bit) that I'm sorry I couldn't come tonight." I think that's the part you missed.
