In the eppy "Out of Africa" (aired end of October) he had told Weaver that he planned on going back to Africa at the end of the calendar year. (He said something like "I'll give you 8 weeks notice, I'm leaving again.") And, in "Shifts Happen" (the previous eppy) his fairwell to Gillian had also implied that he planned on seeing her again in a couple of months, possibly back in the Congo.

However, the spoilers I've seen, which seem to cover episodes that should air well into the new year, all include scenes with Luka. So maybe (I hope) he tells Kerry he is going to leave, but ends up staying?
