Luka contracted malaria in last weeks' episode. Malaria takes a VERY long time to recover from. He also got punched in the jaw by an African army thug (don't know which army - or rebel, as it were). He also was beat up just from the elements - spending several days in the jungle and such. But, he really hardly had any outward physical cuts, bruises and such. It was more that he was critically ill (almost died) with malaria. He played it to perfection by the way. I thought he was BRILLIANT. I'm surprised there weren't more comments here on his brilliant performance in last weeks' episode!
