Date Posted: 15:23:22 05/31/03 Sat A subject close to my own heart......I've worked in the racing industry for a lot of years....and I remember Miesque setting a course record for the Breeder's Cup Mile back in 1987......She was trained by Francois Boutin.. Although, over her in the UK....we have betting shops, where you can call into to have a wager on almost anything...I know that globally they aren't the norm......But we did stay open for betting on the Breeders Cup, The Arc de Triomphe......not to mention being the host nation for The Derby, The Oaks.....The Grand National.......and we also took bets on the Melbourne Cup......all the way over in Australia...... Hell, I've seen some sights in those shops......and paid out one obscene amount of money.......and took the same over the counter....
