I'm Ric's brother, and yes Ric did pass away Dec 8th,2003 he was told he had Renal Cell Carcinoma which spread and also became Lyphoma Carcinoma. Three days after he was confirmed, they took his right kidney which had a softball size tumor onit as well 12 Lympnodes and a golf ball tumor near his pelvis. It took all of about 8 weeks from the time they remove the cancer from his body for him to die. He did not want any treatment, for he was told he only had a 2-12% chance that it would work "he said he could get better odds at the Casino in AC" so he did just that and Did It His Way!
He was so so strong in character and will that "I'm Proud to have had him as my brother." If anyone would like to talk to me please use the email address provided.

This is a true story, I swear. A girl named Barb who lived in my dorm in the room next door to me, really surprized me one friday night. Our bathrooms were private stalls with locking doors; I was in the end one friday night after dinner, trying to take a dump when I saw thru the cracks Barb enter the bathroom in a robe with an Fleet Bagenema, and she proceeed to mix it at the sink and go into a stall directly opposide me. She didn's see me, and I saw her lay on the floor on a towel and I assumed that the enema was running in. She didn't make a sound and neither did I. After about 10 minutes, I heard the obvious sounds of an enema expulsion and the smell was so bad that I flushed and got up. As I was washing my hands, Barb called out and asked me for a roll of toilet paper and as I was handing it under the door, she let go with another cavalcade of liquid poop and soapy water. Before I left, I asked her if she was alright, she replied that she was and that she just had diarrhea. At that moment, her bag that was hanging on the door fell to the floor, and I was obvious what she was doing. I didn't say anything and asked if she needed anythig else, she sheepishly replied "no thanks" and I left. She never mentioned the event to me; I had fantasies about us exchanging enemas; but it never happened.

Let's go back to when Starrett was built and the first tennants moved in. Starrett back in the late 60's was a great place to live, and raise your children. It was better than most other neighborhoods. Everyone knew each other and their children. Yea the adults knew you were hanging out in the hallways and in places you weren't supposed to be and that security chased you home. But security also knew whose children were whose and what parent to speak to if their child was found doing something he or she shouldn't have been doing. There were baseball, football teams, swim teams, girl and boy scouts. Dances on the weekends, halloween parties, and so much more for the young people to do. There were parents there who cared about their children and tried to give them a better place to live, that was also affordable. In the late 70's and early 80's the children still had respect for authority. All the children got along their groups were mixtures of black, white, asian, and hispanics. Most parents never knew who was coming for dinner but all the children were always welcomed. That was the premise that Starrett was founded on a balance of all the races living together, in peaceful harmony and we did. Inter-racial sex or marriage and that should be left to the individual parents, to discuss with their own children. There are good and bad in all races, religions, and people. No Starrett is not like it was now it is common for peoople to get mugged in elevators on the streets in the garage, even in their own apartments. Back then it happened also but rarely. It is just the times we live, the children of starrett now can not even go out and play like they did back then because they are in Starrett, NO because the times are different, that's all. .......

I was a proud homomosexual of east ny during the 1960's.
My lover Johnny Reb (John Gallagher) and i were an inseperable pair. We went at it almost constantly. We made love in the most inopportune places eg: A bench in front of 857 Schenck Ave at 12:00 in the afternoon, the basketball courts in front of PS 273, on the see-saw in Gershwin park nr Vermont & Stanley. I want to tell everyone here about the Gay legacy of East New York from the past and present. Way back during the 60's & 70's East N.Y. was a bustling Gay community, contrary to what many people might think. Back in the 60's & 70's homosexuality was taboo and therefore, people hid their Gay identity. In communities such as Greenwich Village
and Soho, homosexuality was out in the open and people did not hide their gay identities even back then. Towards the late 60's & Early 70's during the advent of the Gay Activist Alliance and the Gay Liberation Movement, homomosexuals hid their Gayness no more. We are now proud to be what we are (and what i am). To get to the point Greenwich Village was not the only large Gay Community, East NY was then a rapidly increasing it's Gay population.
I must say i am proud to be part of East NY's past and present gay populace. I want to tell everyone about my love affair with one of East NY's notorious Homosexuals, the late Johnny (Gallagher) Reb. Johnny Reb was a known as a tough guy or a big bully who would beat up people and extort people but i knew him for other reasons. Johnny Reb was not the "Bully" everyone made him out to be, he was sweet, caring, kind and compassionate (damn, he was a great lover). Johnny & I used to make love in the most strangest of places. One night before we made love (circa-1968) he treated me to Wetsons Hamburgers on Pennsylvania ave (now Popeyes chicken)and we made love behind the garbage can in front of Wetson's. Another time Johnny & I were walking hand in hand down Wortman & Schenck aves and along came the Chow, Chow Cup truck and Johnny Treated me to a large cupn of chow mein & noodles and the urge hit us, we proceded to make love in the parking lot behind someone's van at night.
Those were wild Gay times during the 60's & 70's and til this day East NY remains an affluent Gay community. Anyone who really knows the "Tuff Guy Bullies" of East NY's past must know that 95% of them are Homosexuals. Johnny Reb, Ralphie Meatball, Louie "The Scab" Scarrantino aka/Crazy Louie and almost everyone else they are affilliated with are Gay, i should know i've been there myself. Starett City is now a vastly populated Gay Community. Many of the old time Gays like me and the new Russian immigrants who have moved here in the past few years are Gay. There is a large Gay Russian population in Starrett City and i welcome them with open arms (and open something else). East NY & Starrett City will continue to grow in the worlds largest Gay comminities, surpassing Greenwich Village.

The truth is back because he wants it to be known once again how bad Starrett City was for us to grow up in.I once again have to remind everyone in my age group how it really was so that maybe they can get rid of the demons that they repress due to the fact they grew up in shit and around shit doing...shit.
My age group lets say 30-40.I moved in in 77 i was outty by 88. I met no one who ever amounted to anything there. I was smart enough to get as far away from there as I could as soon as I could. I think it's time for a history lesson now.
Starrett was built on a landfill that also served double duty as a burial ground for the local mob ( mafia for those of you who don't know what mob means.)families when they needed to dispose of a problem.Nice.After the city decided to allow the developers to build the development on the "junkyard" they just moved operations down the block a bit but kept operating at full throttle with stinky garbage trucks going in and out all day and all night.Now I'm no ecologist but how good could it have been breathing that into our lungs on a daily basis until the early 80s when they closed it and moved all the garbage to Fresh Kills in Staten Island to poison the people there too.
The schools sucked if you wanted to learn.We all laugh about throwing stuff over the lockers at school but where I am now school is all about learning and participating in things like soccer music and other after school activities.Of course the fact that I live someplace that is 99% white american patriot stock. And we take the future of our children seriously. Starrett and projects like it cause inter racial mixing and in some cases inter racial sex.We keep our kids pure because we stay amongst OUR OWN.So the whole rainbow community ideal is just a bunch of liberal crock.
It's not just the black,latin,asian,indian type of maggots that are eating away at our country.Starrett decided to stock up on Russians.Russians. thats funny because when I was a kid in the parking garage school my teachers taught me the russians were bad, evil, our enemy. Now that same evil stinky Russian could be my neighbor and my beautiful child might have to be brainwashed by the enemy.
As far as our black "Brothers" almost all the stereotyped pre conceived notions about them continually are proven to be true.
shiftless lazy prone to commit more crime. Prone to be from and create new broken homes.more likely to use the money I pay for taxes to support them and their babies and their baby mommas too.
I say seperation is the solution and a good start would be to leave Starret and all of the inner city to the blacks ricans asian and all other immigrants.
In closing I just want you to know that I think some of the white boys you talk about on this board like James or Tom C or Serrano should stay with the "others" because they are trash too
