Nope not that complicated, you can still use whatever character you like. If you wish to use MF to enhance your chances of finding a Hunt item that is to your advantage. Keep in mind, Unique items rarely drop though surely do. Gambling and trading with other participants are likely your best options, and MF will have no effect on gambling these Hunt items, according to Chaos Sanctuary:) Hunt items can be dropped by monsters or from chests and such but all the items are low cost gambles and even though you may find more than one Hunt item, you can still trade amoung other teams for items you may need.
