Subject: Oh just some ramblings....
So here you are, level 70 something and getting harder all the time to level up even in Hell....
You allow others to join the game, great, now I can level up and perhaps find some goodies along the way..... wrong!
My good friends this game above all else is a co-op game!
This wonderful game we play was made specifically for co-op play, sure you can whoop on your own, single player, hardcore or even solo, but for how long, before you actually need help somewheres down the line?
Of all the lessons taught in old Camelot, the most impressive still applies here in Xcal, play good co-op!
What good does it do when you are in a multiplayer game which is nothing more than a free for all? I mean players moving ahead of others in the game, you die, lose everything, they die, lose everything and nothing is accomplished, think about it, and that is with good lag! It makes no sense at all! Sure great items may fall, if you are fast and selfish enough to grab em and run because nothing is shared regardless. This means the player who does take the time to play good co-op, is simply left behind no matter what level he/she is huh?
So.... why belong to a Guild... well good friends think about it, think about the great games you had with your guild mates. Yeah sure you waited til they finished a pee break or a phone call, you waited til they finished gambling or repairing, you waited til they finished stashing gold or sharing items, and least of all you waited til they joined you down at a portal. Out of kindness and respect, you did this unless they told you to go ahead without them and you always provided a portal when they returned, automatic!
I am proud of the people I play with and am very lucky to be able to game with such great players, they wait, they share and they feel the pain when another dies. This is what co-op play is all about and as a guild this is what we are all about. We distinqish ourselves this way :)
I thank all the good friends I play with for there great co-op style and their patience, those are the games that keep you awake at nights, not the games you died needlessly because of someone's selfish playing style!
I am sure most of you have seen this type activity and perhaps have felt the way I now feel. We where not all fortunate enough to have learned how to play good co-op and many of us did have great teachers along the way. Never the less, most of us know better and it is our duty here in Xcal to continue as honourable members of this guild and to promote good co-op gaming. The old adage applies, together we conquer, divided..... we fall, and ole Lard Butt is laughing like hell!
Ok nough said.... you all know what I mean, we are still a guild of honour and believe me when I tell you all, we are much better off for it!
Kicks soap box half the way to hell and back....
Wil :)
Wil
Remember good friends, be proud of who you are, be noble and honourable in your playing styles, take the time to care about others in the game you are playing with, share, and above all enjoy the game as it was meant to be.
