I do believe your missing the point. It has nothing to do with taking a character trait and using it for humor. It has everything to do with using the same joke four times in one episode and doing it for five minutes at a time. Example Peter falling and grabing his knee.

Oh yeah and no show is 30 minutes long. That is a broad generalization. It assumes somebody has forknowledge of the subject. I see that you lack that.
