The soft sound of hooves on sweet green grass approaches. She follows a cloud above, innocent as the summer, her spirit floating right along with it. Yet on her face there is a more somber expression, as of one who has lost something of comfort and love. The mare trots softly, her long, clean limbs flashing white every time they are uncovered from the hock-length grass. And the smell of nice things to eat follows her as well: sugar, carrots, and oats. She had been long in the presence of these luxuries, but they were gone. Perhaps forever.

Maybe she was out for company. Maybe the sweet thing desired a life of that renewed love. Or if she was just thirsting for change, it was not known. Yet she kept troting on, placid and free.

She wishes to join.
