We are now in Colorado Springs.

We had to live in a hotel for the first 10 days here.

Our first order of business was to get our car. We rented a car one way, drove to Dallas to pick up our car from the port, dropped off the rental at the D/FW air port and drove our car back to the Springs. We managed to make the 1,400 mile round trip in about 29 hours.

After we got our car, we started house hunting. I tell, you, those houses can be sneaky little critters when you're hunting them. We finally found one we liked that fit our needs. We moved in on the first. It's a 3 bdrm, 2 bath house with a 4 car garage (detached) out in the country. The house sits on just over 5 acres of land that we can play around on, and our nearest neighbor is about 1/2 mile away. The nice part for me is the commute -- 5.5 miles from my garage to the parking lot at work, which beats the 30 mile commute I had in Germany.

We're still trying to learn our way around the city. C. Springs seems to be a very large and very spread out city. I ended up buying a navigations system for the car to help keep us from getting lost. After living in Europe of over 10 years, it's taking a little while to get used to driving in the US. I never realized how bad American drivers really are.

Anyway, we're here now and we found a place to live. The only major thing to worry about now is waiting for our furniture and household goods to be delivered when they arrive, it will be nice to have my Lazyboy back.
