Does anyone here have any first-hand knowledge of the Colorado Springs area? I just found out that the Air Force is sending me to Schriever AFB near Colorado Springs this coming July. I'll be spending the last four years of my AF career there and would like to know as much about the area as I can before I get there.
Info I'm interested in;
--Good places/neighborhoods to live
--Good jr.high/high schools for my children
--Cost of living in the area
--Any special considerations about the area (snow is not an issue to me having spent many years living in Alaska)
Keep in mind that I've been living overseas for the past 16 years with the last 10 of those years being in Europe, so I may not be as familiar with things in the States as some people. I'm expecting a culture shock for me and my entire family when we get back state-side.
