Well, I suppose it shouldn't surprise anyone, but I just saw BP premium here for $2.999/gal. The disappointing revelation that also came to me a couple weeks ago was that BP has reformulated and their premium is now only 92 octane (at least this one station that I used to frequent). After another visit to www.toptiergas.com, I have re-evaluated my staunch support for "Amoco" gas.. Probably should have done that when they were bought by BP anyway..
So, am I out of line in considering the possibility that the connected administration cronies might be applying a bit of leverage on the big petroleum conglomerates to toy with the price to benefit the cause of a sagging McCain campaign, or is that too much of a conspiracy theory? (I'm trying to remain objective, but my cynicism makes that difficult).
