1. Faith, unlike Buffy, doesn't "suck at undercover". Throwing away her communications device may be her typical rebelliousness, but look at the next panel - Faith is confronted by the security staff, who might notice the mini-radio stuck in her ear, if she still had it ( although they don't notice the lethal weapon hidden in her hair). She then makes a spectacle of herself, which Giles would probably forbid, which reminds me of 2 (yes 2) old jokes :

#1. A security guard at a diamond mine notices that every day, one of the workers leaves with a wheelbarrow full of sand. Every day, he searches the sand & finds nothing. Years later, the 2 men meet by chance.
"Ok," says the guard "It's been 10 years, & neither one of us still works for the mining company. So .. what were you doing with all those wheelbarrows full of sand ?"
The worker replies " I was stealing wheelbarrows"

#2. An office manager calls the sales staff into his office. " I know some of you like to drink a martini with your lunch. All I ask is that you drink Gin martinis rather than Vodka ones."
"But sir," says a salesman "won't the customers smell the Gin ?".
" I hope so," says the manager " If they think you're drunk, maybe they won't notice that you're stupid."

The logic of both stories is the same - if you want to hide something, give people something else to look at. If the security guards think "Hope" is an arrogant bitch, they won't notice that she's an imposter.

2. The parallels between Faith & Gigi are obvious. Both come from disfunctional families. Both have anger management problems. Both have killed, and both have done so by accident. Both have attached themselves to older, charismatic men (although Roden's relationship to Gigi doesn't look very paternal). They have similar taste in music. Finally, both have been marked for death by the Council. It wouldn't be surprising if Faith identified with Gigi, at least up to a point. She may decide not to go through with the mission.

3. Otoh - unlike Faith, Gigi isn't very bright. She sees Faith kill Roden's giant flying gargoyles & doesn't wonder where a viscount's daughter learned to fight monsters so well. She doesn't wonder why she never met "Hope" before, or who invited this interesting stranger to her birthday party. Finally, she seems to think that she can take control over the Slayers by killing Buffy. More likely, her new "followers" would tear her apart, if Willow didn't beat them to it. ( Roden - who certainly should know better - seems to encourage her delusion, which suggests that he's using her for his own reasons - which I guess we already knew.)

If Buffy were dead, her most likely successor wouldn't be her killer; it would be Faith, as the next most senior Slayer. Faith actually was head Slayer for a brief time, in S7, and didn't enjoy the experience. I don't think she'd enjoy being right-hand-girl to Gigi any better - I doubt that anybody actually enjoys working for Gigi. If forced to choose, I think Faith will overcome her sympathy for Gigi and side with Buffy.

4. This is completely unrelated to any of the above, but am I the only one who liked the "Green lantern Power Ring" effect when Buffy drew power from Willow back in issue #4 ?
