I always type the thing out and then habitually press send on the completely incorrect assumption that for once I will have assembled a well constructed and error free post. That I do this is of course entirely my own fault and no criticism was intended - at least not one that ultimately doesn't boil down to my own lack of care in the first place.

I know from past experience that if I re-read a section of my text days or sometimes months after penning it I notice spelling mistakes or clumsy constructions or omitted words or whatever that in all probability would have escaped me at the time. That I recognise there is a tendency on my part to read what I think I've written not what I've actually written is something I've come to accept; it's just that the facility to edit at any stage after posting would allow me to satisfy my wish not to betray my own inadequacies any more than is necessary.
