For the 1st time, I followed the site's links beyond the totals. The funds to send the rice come from 22 countries that "have pledged to work towards each giving 0.7% (a little less than 1%) of their national income in international aid, which would raise the $195 billion. Some countries are slow to meet their pledge." You can see which ones on this page. If your country is one of them--especially if it's one of the 6 that haven't even set a schedule for reaching the 0.7% goal--you can follow the "Next" link on that page to choose your country from the site's list & print a letter to send to the president/prime minister. (I think you can fax it, too, but actual printed letters are more effective.)

The US is one of the countries that haven't done anything to fulfill their pledges. I just printed out the letter to Bush. (Celebaelin, the UK is scheduled to reach its goal in 2013...& that goal is >3x the percentage the US has pledged. Feel any better?)
